Yum’s The Word” is the only show that blends old-school fun with modern-day storytelling. Each month comedic storyteller Robin Gelfenbien hosts this unique event replete with Mad Libs, nostalgic candy and her homemade ice cream cakes.*

Dawn J. Fraser is a storyteller, educator and and nationally acclaimed speaker based out of New York City. She is the Host of the live show and upcoming podcast ‘Barbershop Stories’, which features storytellers performing true tales in barbershops and salons. Dawn has created programs for college students, educators and entrepreneurs to develop leadership potential through storytelling, and is an Instructor with The Moth and The Story Studio. She was featured amongst some of the nation’s top innovators and change makers as a speaker at TED@NYC and has performed in shows including The Moth Mainstage, Story Collider, RISK and The Unchained Tour. She loves being a twin, a Trinidadian, and tweetable @dawnjfraser.

Gastor Almonte

Gastor keeps busy. He is an award-winning storyteller, standup comedian, show producer and host. He’s an active member of the New York City comedy scene, and can be seen nightly at various clubs on the east coast. He’s appeared on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening, the New York Times’ featured The Liar Show and The Story Collider. As the host of Stoops2Stages, a weekly interview series, Gastor interviews various HipHop artists and comedians.

Tracey Segarra

Tracey is busy. She discovered storytelling later in life but has since embraced it with the fervor of an evangelist, performing in shows around the region and hosting her own show on Long Island, “Now You’re Talking.” She is a 3-time Moth StorySLAM winner and a GrandSLAM champion. She has also appeared live on the RISK! show and was featured on their podcast. All her storytelling adventures can be found at traceysegarra.com.

Drew Prochaska

Drew Prochaska is a two-time Moth StorySlam winner, who has been featured on the “RISK!”, “Story Collider”, and Audible’s “Stories in Session” podcasts. He lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with his dog, Lula.

Robin Gelfenbien is the self-proclaimed Ambassador of Fun and an NYC-based storyteller, writer and comedian. She’s a three-time Moth Story SLAM winner who has performed on PBS, RISK!, Mortified and countless other shows. She’s also shared the stage with Hannah Gadsby, Trevor Noah and more.

Robin is the Creator and Host of the storytelling series and podcast, “Yum’s the Word,” that features her homemade ice cream cakes. The show has been named a New York Times and Time Out New York Critic’s Pick. Guests have included Tim Gunn, Jason Biggs, Joy Behar and stars from “Orange is the New Black.”

New York Magazine called her solo show, “My Salvation Has a First Name: A Wienermobile Journey,” “the highlight of the Fringe” and Time Out New York gave it 4 stars.

She’s performed her original comedy songs at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and on Sirius Radio. She’s also been featured in Marie Claire magazine and she starred in a commercial directed by Spike Lee.
