Von Sell is a brooklyn-based electropop project who released his breakthrough single “Ivan” last year. following his artist debut, he began working with producer Nick Stumpf (Caveman, NVDES, The French Kicks) to craft a collection of tracks which showcase the artist’s innovative and expansive approach to bedroom pop. His follow up single, “I Insist” premiered on The Fader in early April of 2016, garnering rave reviews across the blogosphere. Of the hit track, taste-making outlet Indieshuffle declared “ ‘I Insist,’ has a more reflective, soulful tone. A perfect mellow electro-anthem to suit the spring/summer turns that we’re feeling across the world. As the dance scene pushes forward full force with great releases every day, it’s nice to step back and indulge in this crisp melodic production.” Fader added, “Brooklyn-based electronic musician Von Sell has brought the meaning of “bedroom pop” to another level.”

Following the success of “I Insist”, Von Sell released an accompanying video for the track, directed by noted NYC filmmaker Anthony Sylvester (Shamir, Yvette). The Wild Honey Pie described the collaboration best: “Von Sell’s video for “I Insist” [added] a perfect visual story to the simple and affecting song. Showing a man stuck in a warehouse trapped with his own thoughts and nothing else. The song itself is the best of electro-pop minimalism. With a myriad of pulsing beats layered under Von Sell’s clear and crisp vocal – it’s a track that stays with you long after it’s done.”

He will be releasing his debut EP this fall with a short tour to follow.

Human Heat is the new project from Alex Schaaf (Yellow Ostrich). Inspired by a more introverted electronic sound with hints of Arthur Russell, Jai Paul, Caribou and others, the first self-titled EP was released in late 2014, featuring guest vocalists Tei Shi and Teeny Lieberson (TEEN). The second EP came out in early 2016, with more to come soon.
