Philosophy of the World, the monumental cult classic 1969 record made by the Wiggin sisters in New Hampshire created a lasting story of family, fame, and a cat named Foot-Foot. A tribute benefit concert will be hosted by the members of the Dot Wiggin Band, Bi TYRANT, and a
cast of special guest musicians performing the entire Philosophy of  the World album. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward Planned Parenthood, and a special fund for Dot Wiggin of The Shaggs in support of her current musical endeavors.

In celebration of The Shaggs’ reissue of the cult classic album, Philosophy of the World (1969), on Seattle label Light In The Attic records, Dot Wiggin Band proteges Bi TYRANT will host the evening as the hostess house band with a rotation of wonderful artists to perform the entire album as close as Wigginly possible to the original. This special tribute will leave the audience imbued with the spirit of the Shaggs with many special guest musicians including Ava Mendoza, Corn Mo, Daria Grace, Jessica Pavone, Sasha Dobson, members of The Dresden Dolls, B-52s, Bush Tetras, The Defibulators, and more.

Bi TYRANT is an LGBT/women’s rights hardcore punk band in New York  City whose members toured and recorded with Dot Wiggin of The Shaggs. They affectionately call the Shaggs the original grandmothers of punk. Forming the Dot Wiggin Band in 2012, they toured classic Shaggs hits and new music from Dot’s 44 year return to the stage, and helped her create her solo artist record, Ready! Get! Go! released on Jello Biafra’s label Alternative Tentacles. Their debut album, Bisexual Tyrant, will be released September 9th 2016, making the evening a  double release event with The Shaggs reissue of Philosophy of the World on Light In The Attic. They are happy to host and perform as the house band. It will be a seminal night to remember for the Dot Wiggin Band family, musicians, fans and Shaggs aficionados worldwide.

Bi TYRANT frontwoman Brittany Larcenie, guitarist Valerie Vetere (Rich Bennett of Friendly Bears), bassist Adam Minkoff (Doyle Bramhall II), and drummer Laura “Crime” Cromwell bonded over their strong love for the Shaggs during Jesse Krakow’s Tribute to the Shaggs: Still Better Than the Beatles at the Bell House in Brooklyn 2012. Bi TYRANT is  excited to release their debut album, Bisexual Tyrant, which was conceived while touring the music of the Shaggs with Dot Wiggin. They blend hardcore, punk, and clowncar antics while covering the topics of
craigslist roommates, reproductive rights, menstrual justice.
