2012 is almost over. Is the end of the world upon us? Who knows, but just in case, we pulled out all the stops on our last event of the year, bringing you a slate of some of the finest diggers we know. Rather than revel in all the amazing sounds we’ve come to know this year, why not peer towards the future with a taste of the unknown?
The Fade to Mind imprint has reliably become one of the most forward thinking club music labels in the states. We’re happy to finally welcome a member of their team, recent Boston to Brooklyn transplant Rizzla. Known for blistering sets of music you’ve never heard, Rizzla will be at the controls during peak time, ready to obliterate the dance. Expect dubs on dubs on dubs and bring a change of socks, we’re getting sweaty.
Hailing from Rizzla’s old home, False Witness will grace the decks with a similar palette of sounds but rinsing a whole different heap of tracks you’ve never heard. Kunq’d up and vogued out with a Latin feel, it’s all about that groove. Certainly one to watch in 2013, we’re super glad we were finally able to get him down to NYC.
Yet another transplant from Boston, OTS’ old friend Max Pearl will be joining us for the first time. Known amongst DJs for his command of internal mode, we’re ready to hear the eclectic selections in his crate. We’re thinking all that time in Chicago this past year (producing the first ever feature documentary on the footwork scene) is going to provide some smooth Ghetto House flavors. But yet again, we just don’t even know what to expect, and it’s all the better that way.
Rounding out the bill we have Party With Tina from Albany, NY. Constantly ahead of the curve when it comes to genre trends alongside deep, deep selections, the mastermind behind Keep Albany Boring will be warming us up with some chilled out versions of the same rhythms and styles our other guests sling. This night is going to burn slow and then blaze hot, in a fine style.
Your resident selector knomad will be setting the ball on the tee and then shutting it down until they turn on the lights.

At OTS you can expect to hear emerging artists who are blurring genre lines, borrowing ideas and techniques from multiple different sounds, and creating something original and exciting. The party aims to create an environment where like minded artists and fans can get together, exchange ideas, network for new collaboration opportunities, and ultimately enjoy each others talent, craft and company. The mantra is simple; it’s a word of mouth thing.

knomad has been in the shadows and on the move learning new tricks and developing his craft. Never one to sit still for too long, his sets reflect this in constant genre juxtaposition. knomad’s mood and set depends on the night, and his respect for beats at all tempos is clearly evident. Only on the grid for a short time, knomad has performed on bills with james blake, jamie xx, ital tek, dave q, braille and others. As time rolls on expect a dedication to purveying quality riddims and curating exceptional musical adventures.
