Karsh Kale

Described by Billboard Magazine as a “visionary composer and producer”, Karsh Kale is one of global music’s brightest stars. In the past 12 years as a solo recording artist, producer, composer, live performer and DJ, Karsh has set the world of electronic fusion on fire and has helped to create a genre of new music and culture that continues to influence an entire generation. His body of work has been cause for fans and critics alike to claim Kale as a pioneer and a trail blazer, not only opening doors for his own career but for an entire scene to emerge in the world of electronica and fusion music. Karsh Kale has also developed a reputation as a genre bending collaborator and a world renowned tabla player and musician, exploring the worlds of electronica, Indian classical music, rock, jazz fusion and hip hop which has led him to work with some of the most renowned artists from around the globe. Kale continues to reinvent his ever-evolving sound and has established himself as one of the worlds most sought after fusion artists.

Lauded as the “Jimi Hendrix of Hammered Dulcimer” by NPR, and “A Force of nature” Max ZT is an innovator of the instrument. Taking his roots from Irish and American folk music, Max has transplanted his compositional techniques to both Senegal, where he studied the Mandinko technique with the Cissoko griot family, and to India, where he received the prestigious AIIS grant to study under the great santoor master Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. His fresh perspective and bold experimentalism have been the backbone to beautiful, complex, and genuine compositions, while his unorthodox playing style has been a pioneering force in revolutionizing dulcimer techniques.

Max has enlivened the conceptual framework of traditional folk music by fusing multi-cultural roots and traditions to create a truly compelling sound.

Max ZT and his band House of Waters have been called “One of the most original bands on the planet,” by NY Music Daily, and have shared the stage with some of the most influential international musical leaders of the century including Pt. Ravi Shankar, Tinariwen, Jon Bon Jovi, Jimmy Cliff, Bela Fleck, Karsh Kale, Snarky Puppy, and more. With their most recent album House of Waters hitting #2 on the iTunes World Music charts, critics are raving. All About Jazz calls the album, “truly mesmerizing. House Of Waters resonates throughout with a true eclecticism drawing its influences from many sources. A rare and beautiful gem.” While Timeout NY states House of Waters is “A sight to behold.”

MaxZT is based out of Brooklyn, New York. He has put out nine albums, and in 2005, won the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship. He’s recorded with a vast array of artists across musical genres, ranging from Victor Wooten, to The Goo Goo Dolls, to American Idol Phil Phillips.

Bhrigu Sahni

Emerging from the city of Pune, India, Bhrigu Sahni is a versatile guitarist/composer-producer now based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in a family of academicians, social activists, writers and actors, he has been imparted with a fresh, new outlook on the field of music.
While completing a degree in Animal Sciences in Pune, India, Bhrigu had a strong inclination towards the field of theatre and music. After acting in numerous theatre productions across the country and playing music in local bands, he was convinced that the field of music was his calling. He applied and was accepted into Berklee College of Music in the Fall of 2007.

Upon entering Berklee, he was nominated, as one of the first Indians to be featured in the colleges’ prestigious and annually held, “Guitar Night 2008.” He was one of 8 students selected from the 1000 guitar students at Berklee. He also was a regular performer at the Berklee Performance Center, playing sold out shows for the “International Folk Festival”, “Berklee’s Gospel Night” and many more.

Since his graduation from music school (2011), Bhrigu Sahni has had the honor of playing with artists such as Grammy award winning Angelique Kidjo, Neo-soul artist/ bass player Meshell Ndegeocello, Punjabi Folkstar Arif Lohar, Grammy award winning Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers fame and Sitar Maestro, Anoushka Shankar.

His musical endeavors have taken him to venues such as Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, The Asia Society NYC, Carnegie Hall, NY, TED Talks Conference @ World Trade Center, Boston, The Wills India Fashion Week at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and The Blue Frog, Mumbai.

He firmly believes in music that serves as a catalyst for social change and is currently working in collaboration with Pakistani neo-sufi artist, Arooj Aftab as composer and guitar player. He is also working as a Recording Artist and Composer for Independent and Commercial Cinema.

DJ Zakhm

Zakhm is an electronica DJ who hails from the legendary MUTINY movement that pioneered the Asian Underground sound in the United States. He has performed with numerous world-renowned artists at premiere venues around the globe. Zakhm continues to break new ground with immersive, genre-bending DJ sets that are ever-evolving, showcasing the best in global electronica from established and emerging artists.
