Stunningly classical, uniquely touching – the David Orlowsky Trio is today regarded as one of the world’s most successful and most innovative ensembles. With their unique musical style and crowd-pulling performances, the three artists have re-defined the standards of classical music. Classifying the sound of their own compositions as „Chamber.World.Music“, the trio explores new forms of music at the crossroads of classical, klezmer, pop, Middle Eastern music and jazz. They have wowed audiences at New York’s Carnegie Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam or Luxembourg Philharmonie, as well as at major festivals including Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Heidelberger Frühling, the Lucerne Festival and Oslo Chamber Music Festival, all of which have them as regular guests. The compositions of the three-time winners (2008, 2011 and 2015) of the ECHO Klassik award are published worldwide by Schott Musik/Advance Music, with the scores being frequent bestsellers, among music students and the general public alike.

Highlights of the 2016/17 season include performances of the orchestral program Symphonic Klezmer with the Aachen Symphony Orchestra, Nürnberg Symphony, Jonköping Sinfonietta in Sweden as well as with the Kammerakademie Potsdam. Furthermore, the trio will perform in Salzburg, Zurich, Bern, Beethovenfest Bonn, Brussels, Hamburg, and Munich. In Spring 2017 the trio will release their sixth studio album for Sony Classical, Paris-Odessa. The release tour includes concerts in Odessa, Munich, Lucerne, Cologne, Edinburgh, Dresden, Regensburg among other cities. In September 2017 they will embark on a tour through Asia and give their debut in Hong Kong.

In season 2015/16 the trio has played with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester and Kammerakademie Potsdam. In addition, the trio has performed at Alte Oper Frankfurt, DeSingel Antwerpen, Great Mountain Festival in Korea, Bayer Kultur Leverkusen, Wallis Annenberg Center in Los Angeles, Musiksommer am Zürichsee, Niedersächsische Musiktage, Rheingau Music Festival, Heidelberger Frühling, at the renown concert series of the Danish Louisiana museum as well as at the East Neuk Festival in Edinburgh among other engagements.

September 2014 saw the release of David Orlowsky Trio’s fifth studio album for Sony Classical, Klezmer Kings. On this record the ensemble dedicates itself for the first time to the classics of the Klezmer repertoire. Symphonic Klezmer, a collaboration with the Kammerakademie Potsdam, was released in October 2013. Some of the ensemble’s repertoire was newly arranged for trio and orchestra by contemporary composers such as David Bruce, Matan Porat and Torsten Rasch, creating a unique interplay between brilliant orchestral sounds and moving solos and trio passages. Highly praised by critics, this recording presents Klezmer music in an entirely new dimension and with unsuspected depth. The album remained at the top of the classical charts for weeks.

Frequent musical collaborators of the David Orlowsky Trio include Daniel Hope, Per Arne Glorvigen, Iveta Apkalna, Avi Avital and actor Dominique Horwitz, with whom they have developed a fascinating concert and reading program based on Michael Ende’s famous novel Momo. The trio records exclusively for Sony Classical.
