Ray Rizzo, Raquel Bell, and David Marshall started playing together in late 2011. Raquel and David had previously played together in the band Norden Bombsight. Ray has played in the bands King Kong, M (David Pajo), Days Of The New, Dawn Landes and The Hounds, Doveman, Corporal, and currently drums for Trixie Whitley.
 
Since February 2012 Mesiko shows have happened all over Brooklyn, at The Lebowski Fest, and NYC’s Mercury Lounge. Mesiko has played on bills with with The Inner Banks, Jolie Holland, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Hannah Cohen, The Defibulators, Alana Amram, Mucca Pazza, Dawn Landes, Shy Hunters, and Catherine Irwin. In June 2013 Mesiko hosted a Saturday afternoon residency at The People’s Garden in Bushwick.
 
In March 2013 Mesiko digitally released a 3 song EP recorded in Louisville KY by Kevin Ratterman (Jim James, Andrew Bird, Maserati). This past August the band reunited with Ratterman to complete a full length album of songs with Sam Cohen of Yellowbirds co-producing. The band hopes to release the recording (tentatively titled SOLAR DOOR) in collaboration with a purveyor of fine audio recordings in Spring/Summer 2014.
