Faith Harding (Novelty Daughter)

Novelty Daughter is the project of Brooklyn-based musician Faith Harding — one that unites a childhood of jazz training in vocals and piano, countless Wednesday nights spent at Los Angeles’ beat scene fortress Low End Theory, and formative time spent in Berlin’s warehouses.

The result of this stylistic wanderlust is music that strives to contain the best of the various worlds Harding inhabits—loop-heavy beat constructions that are rich in texture, hard-hitting in delivery, and a devout consciousness of melodic intricacy and song-centered structures.

“Harding overlays her crystalline, jazz-inflected voice onto itself, with jittery, synth-driven grooves churning away below. She is at turns exuberantly spiritual, tenderly reassured and anxiety-ridden.” – NY Times
