Charles Alexander is the publisher of Chax. Chax Press was founded in 1984 in Tucson, Arizona. It mission s to create community through the publication of books of poetry and related literature that are works of excellence and vision, and through the presentation of poets and other artists in public programs as well as in dialogue with each other in symposia. Chax has published nearly 200 books in a variety of formats, including hand printed letterpress books and chapbooks, hybrid digital and letterpress chapbooks, book arts editions, and trade paperback editions. In August 2014 Chax moved to Victoria,Texas, and is presently located in the University of Houston Victoria Center for the Arts.
