Get ready—LPR fav CupcakKe is coming back to LPR on Tuesday, March 6th!

The ever-intrepid Chicago rapper has stayed busy since she made her LPR debut opening for Charli XCX last April. She headlined her own sold-out concert here at LPR in August, followed that up with a sold-out LPR Presents show at Brooklyn Bazaar in October, helped us raise money for Planned Parenthood in November, and even teamed up with us for A Night of Vogue in Miami Beach.

More recently, though, CupcakKe (aka Elizabeth Eden Harris) has been busy with the release of her latest album, Ephorize, which has garnered much-warranted acclaim from the likes of Spin, Pitchfork, XXL and The Guardian, among others. Billboard caught up with her to chat about Ephorize, music & life—here’s a bit of what they touched on:

But with her new project, Ephorize, out Jan. 5, the independent artist is offering a surprising dose of self-observation. The album, which follows 2017 LP Queen Elizabitch, finds a balance between the sex-positive bangers CupcakKe is known for and more contemplative and even politically charged tracks. On album opener “2 Minutes,” she skips the hook and muses on the state of her life. “It’s just me, very emotional and deep, letting it all out,” she says of the song, in which she raps about everything from body image and the internet to attending too many funerals.
